1U rack server with a 3.4 GHz six-core Xeon E5-2643v3, 64 GB DDR4, B140i SATA RAID and eight 2.5-inch drive bays
The HP ProLiant DL360 G9 is a 1U rack server designed for dense compute workloads. It ships with a single Intel Xeon E5-2643v3 six-core processor running at 3.4 GHz and 64 GB of DDR4 memory installed across 24 DIMM slots. The chassis provides eight 2.5-inch small form factor drive bays and includes two redundant 500 W hot-swap power supplies. An integrated Matrox G200 GPU with 16 MB video memory handles basic display output.
This server suits buyers who need a compact single-socket platform with high memory capacity and redundant power. The B140i software RAID controller supports SATA drives at RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10. Buyers who require hardware RAID acceleration or SAS connectivity should look at a different controller. The installed memory already reaches the listed 64 GB maximum, so further expansion is not possible without changing the configuration.
The storage controller is the decisive specification: the onboard B140i provides software RAID for SATA devices only. It does not support SAS drives or hardware RAID functions. Eight SFF bays are available, but only SATA SSDs or HDDs can be used with the integrated controller. Buyers planning to use SAS media or a dedicated RAID card must account for this limitation.

Other versions of this model
No. The single Xeon E5-2643v3 provides 12 DIMM slots and the 64 GB capacity is already populated, so the system runs with one processor.
The B140i Software RAID handles SATA only; SAS drives require a different controller that is not included.
Each 500 W supply has a status LED; both should show green when the server is powered and the supplies are functioning normally.
