A 1U rack server with dual 12-core Xeon processors at 2.3GHz, 8GB DDR4 ECC memory, two 600GB 15K SAS drives and an H240ar RAID controller supporting RAID 0/1/5/6/10/50/60
Installed Memory Size 8GB
HDD 2 x 600GB
The HP ProLiant DL360 Gen9 fits two Xeon E5-2670v3 processors, each with 12 cores at 2.3 GHz, into a single rack unit. Eight gigabytes of DDR4 ECC registered memory are installed across 24 DIMM slots, leaving room for large-scale expansion. Two 600 GB 15K SAS drives connect through the H240ar controller, which supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. The Matrox G200 provides basic video output for management consoles.
Confirm the cabinet can accommodate a 1U chassis with redundant 500 W hot-swap supplies on independent circuits. The H240ar uses a PCIe slot, so ensure the riser configuration matches your I/O needs. DDR4 modules must be ECC registered and populated in sets of 12 per processor to reach full bandwidth; the current 8 GB uses only a fraction of the 24 available slots. No operating system is included, so prepare installation media separately.
Under continuous load the 15K SAS drives maintain higher random IOPS than slower spindles, feeding all 24 physical cores plus 48 hyper-threaded threads. Redundant power supplies share the draw evenly, preventing a single rail from overheating during prolonged computation. The H240ar’s 12 Gb SAS links keep controller bandwidth ahead of the drive array, so rebuilds and parity calculations do not stall the CPUs. Thermal design targets steady-state operation in dense rows rather than short bursts.
