HP ProLiant DL360 Gen9 1U Server

This 1U rack server is built for dense compute environments. It ships with a single Intel Xeon E5-2620v3 six-core processor at 2.4 GHz and 4 GB of DDR4 ECC memory. Dual redundant 500 W power supplies and the Smart HBA H240ar RAID controller provide hardware resilience for critical workloads.

Suited for virtualisation hosts

The chassis holds four 3.5-inch LFF drive bays populated with two 1 TB 7.2 K SAS drives and supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. Buyers who need more than 4 GB of memory out of the box, more than two drives pre-installed, or a second processor installed should look at other configurations.

4 GB DDR4 memory limit as shipped

Only 4 GB of DDR4 is installed across 24 DIMM slots, so the system cannot run memory-intensive workloads without additional modules. The Xeon E5-2620v3 supports up to 2400 MT/s DDR4 speeds, but the installed capacity is the immediate constraint for deployment.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the H240ar controller sees both 1TB SAS drives after first boot?

Enter the H240ar BIOS utility (F8 at POST) and verify both 3.5-inch 1TB 7.2K SAS drives appear as logical volumes under RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 or 60.

What ships in the box and what must I buy separately?

The 1U chassis, one E5-2620v3 2.4GHz 6-core CPU, 4GB DDR4 ECC RDIMM, two 1TB SAS drives in trays, dual 500W redundant PSUs, Matrox G200 GPU and rail kit; OS licence and extra DDR4 DIMMs are not included.

Which memory capacity should I choose for this 24-slot system?

Start with 4GB, 8GB, 16GB, 32GB or 64GB DDR4-2400 ECC Registered DIMMs; populate in sets of 12 per processor up to 3TB total when the second Xeon is added.
