A 1U rack server with a Xeon E5-2640v3 2.6GHz CPU, 96GB DDR4, and dual 1TB SATA drives on B140i RAID
The HP ProLiant DL360 Gen9 is a 1U rack server built for dense compute environments. It ships with a single Intel Xeon E5-2640v3 eight-core processor running at 2.6GHz and 96GB of DDR4 memory. Two 1TB 7.2K 6Gbps 2.5-inch enterprise SATA drives are installed in the eight SFF drive bays. The system includes two 500W redundant hot-swap power supplies and a Matrox G200 graphics controller.
This unit arrives with 96GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory installed across the 24 DIMM slots, matching the maximum capacity supported by the single processor configuration. The memory operates at speeds dependent on the processor capability up to 2400MT/s. No further memory expansion is possible without adding a second processor, so buyers needing more than 96GB should consider a dual-processor configuration.
Dual 500W redundant hot-swap power supplies provide power resilience for continuous operation in a 1U form factor. The B140i software RAID controller manages the installed SATA drives in RAID 0, 1, 5 or 10 configurations without a dedicated hardware RAID card. The Matrox G200 GPU handles basic display output with minimal thermal contribution. Noise and thermal output scale with the single processor load and drive activity in the eight-bay chassis.
