A 1U rack server with a twelve-core 2.3GHz Xeon, 4GB DDR4, two 1TB SAS drives and dual 500W redundant power supplies
The HP ProLiant DL360 Gen9 is a 1U rack server built around a twelve-core Intel Xeon E5-2670 v3 processor at 2.3 GHz. It ships with 4 GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory and two 1 TB 7.2 K 3.5-inch SAS drives. The Smart HBA H240ar controller supports RAID 0/1/5/6/10/50/60 across four LFF drive bays. Dual 500 W redundant hot-swap power supplies are included.
This server fits environments that need high core counts in a single rack unit, such as virtualisation hosts, database nodes or near-line storage. The Matrox G200 graphics provide only basic console output, so buyers who need GPU acceleration for compute or rendering should look elsewhere. The single-processor configuration leaves one socket empty for future expansion, while the 24 DIMM slots allow memory to scale well beyond the installed 4 GB.
The 1U chassis requires compatible rack rails and a cabinet with adequate airflow for the redundant power supplies. An operating system must be supplied separately. The H240ar controller handles SAS and SATA drives, freeing PCIe slots for additional networking or storage adapters. Memory speed will depend on the processor capability, so populating the remaining DIMM slots with matched DDR4 modules ensures optimal throughput.

Other versions of this model
The server occupies one rack unit and includes dual 500 W hot-swap power supplies, so the rack must supply matching PDU outlets.
Yes, the H240ar supports 12 Gb SAS and 6 Gb SATA, and the Xeon E5-2670 v3 provides 12 cores at 2.3 GHz for those drives.
Check the controller BIOS during boot for both drives at 7.2 K rpm, then confirm the desired RAID level (0/1/5/6/10/50/60) shows optimal status.
