The HP ProLiant DL360 Gen9 is a 1U rack server built for space-constrained environments that demand density. It ships with a single Intel Xeon E5-2640 v3 eight-core processor at 2.6 GHz, 32 GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory, and two 1 TB 7.2K SAS drives on a Smart HBA H240ar controller. Dual 500 W redundant hot-swap power supplies keep the platform running through a supply failure.

Virtualisation hosts and storage-heavy workloads

The eight physical cores with hyper-threading suit virtualisation hosts, database nodes and file-serving roles that fit in one rack unit. Buyers who need more than one processor, more than 32 GB of memory today, or more than two drive bays filled should look at a larger chassis or a dual-socket configuration. GPU-accelerated workloads are not supported beyond the basic Matrox G200 output.

Single-socket 32 GB memory ceiling

With only one CPU installed, the server can address a maximum of 32 GB across its 24 DIMM slots, so the installed 32 GB already reaches the single-processor limit. Adding a second processor would be required to unlock the full 3 TB capacity and the remaining memory channels.
