1U rack server with single Xeon E5-2643 v3 3.4 GHz, 32 GB DDR4, eight 146 GB 15K SAS drives and H240ar RAID controller
This 1U rack server ships with a single Intel Xeon E5-2643 v3 six-core processor running at 3.4 GHz and 32 GB of DDR4 memory installed across 24 DIMM slots. The chassis holds eight 2.5-inch SAS drive bays populated with 146 GB 15 K RPM drives and an HP Smart HBA H240ar controller supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. Dual 500 W hot-swap power supplies provide redundancy. No operating system is included.
Verify that your rack accepts a 1U form factor and provides adequate airflow for dual 500 W supplies. Confirm the SAS backplane matches the H240ar controller and that your cabling supports 12 Gb SAS or 6 Gb SATA speeds. Ensure DDR4 ECC registered modules are used if expanding beyond the installed 32 GB, respecting the 24-slot limit and processor-dependent memory speed up to 2400 MT/s.
This configuration fits environments needing high core density, fast local SAS storage and redundant power in a single rack unit. Buyers who want more storage capacity than eight 146 GB drives provide, or who require GPU acceleration beyond the integrated Matrox G200, should look at alternative platforms. Organizations needing a pre-installed operating system or larger memory footprints out of the box will also need a different specification.

Other versions of this model
The 1U chassis includes one Xeon E5-2643 v3 at 3.4 GHz, 32 GB DDR4, eight 146 GB 15K SAS drives in trays, the H240ar controller and two 500 W redundant power supplies. Operating system, additional CPUs, extra memory or drives are not included.
The board has 24 DDR4 slots and supports up to 3 TB total. The installed 32 GB uses a fraction of the slots, so you can add 4 GB, 8 GB, 16 GB, 32 GB or 64 GB ECC registered modules up to 2400 MT/s per slot to reach the maximum.
The six-core processor runs at 3.4 GHz with 12 threads via hyper-threading, fed by DDR4 up to 2400 MT/s and the C610 chipset, providing high single-thread speed for dense 1U workloads.
