1U rack server with a 2.5GHz Xeon E5-2640, 16GB DDR3, and eight hot-plug SFF drive bays
The HP ProLiant DL360p Gen8 is a 1U rack-mountable server designed for dense compute environments. It ships with one Intel Xeon E5-2640 processor running at 2.5 GHz with six cores and twelve threads. The system supports up to two processors for a maximum of twelve cores. It includes sixteen gigabytes of DDR3 memory across four 4 GB modules.
Eight small form factor drive bays accept SAS or SATA drives with hot-plug capability for service without downtime. The integrated Smart Array P420i controller with one gigabyte of flash-backed write cache supports RAID levels 0, 1, 1+0, 5 and 5+0. A single 460 watt Platinum Plus hot-plug power supply delivers 94 percent efficiency. Two PCIe 3.0 expansion slots provide one full-height half-length and one low-profile slot for additional controllers.
The server uses DDR3 registered DIMMs across twenty-four slots with a maximum capacity of 768 gigabytes. Advanced ECC, online spare and lockstep modes are supported for data integrity. No drives are included, so buyers must supply compatible 2.5 inch SAS or SATA units. The four-port 1 Gb Ethernet adapter is installed. Confirm rack depth and cooling capacity for a 1U form factor before ordering.

Both slots are PCIe 3.0, so any card installed is capped at PCIe 3.0 speeds.
The 1U rack-mount chassis holds up to eight 2.5-inch SFF SAS or SATA hot-plug drives.
Use the embedded UEFI utility or Smart Storage Administrator to create logical drives; the 1GB FBWC module must be seated and charged before enabling write-back cache.
