The HP ProLiant DL380 Gen9 is a 2U rack server built for data-centre workloads. It ships with dual Intel Xeon E5-2643 v3 processors, each running at 3.4 GHz with six cores. The system includes 64 GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory and a Smart HBA H240ar storage controller.

Dual Xeon CPUs and 24 DIMM slots

Two Xeon E5-2643 v3 CPUs provide 12 physical cores and 24 threads with hyper-threading. The Intel C610 chipset supports up to 24 DIMM slots, 12 per processor, though the installed 64 GB already reaches the configured maximum. Redundant hot-swap 500 W power supplies keep the platform running during a module failure.

Eight SFF bays with SAS RAID

Eight 2.5-inch small-form-factor bays accept SAS or SATA drives; two 1 TB 7.2 K SAS drives are installed. The H240ar controller handles RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 for redundancy or capacity. Optional NVMe bays and additional SFF cages can expand raw storage when the eight bays are full.
