2U rack server with a six-core 3.4 GHz Xeon, 128 GB DDR4, two 146 GB 15K SAS drives and a P440 4 GB FBWC RAID controller
This 2U rack server ships with a single Intel Xeon E5-2643v3 six-core processor at 3.4 GHz, 128 GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory, and a Smart Array P440 controller with 4 GB flash-backed write cache. Two 146 GB 15K SAS drives are pre-installed in the 24-bay SFF chassis, and dual 500 W redundant power supplies are included. The platform supports up to two processors and a maximum of 128 GB installed memory across 24 DIMM slots.
The six-core 3.4 GHz CPU and 128 GB DDR4 fit virtualisation hosts, database nodes, or application servers that benefit from fast clock rates and ECC memory. The P440 controller provides RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 with flash-backed cache. Buyers who need more than 24 SFF bays, a second processor installed, or GPU compute capability should consider other platforms. The Matrox G200eH2 graphics is for management only.
Memory is populated to the listed 128 GB maximum for this configuration using DDR4 ECC registered modules. The 24 slots (12 per processor) allow future expansion only if a second CPU is added, but the installed capacity cannot exceed 128 GB without replacing modules. Verify that your workload fits within this limit before purchase.

Other versions of this model
No, the 128 GB DDR4 is already installed across the 24 DIMM slots and the single CPU supports that full capacity.
Yes, the Smart Array P440 4GB FBWC supports 12 Gbps and 6 Gbps SAS, so older 6 Gbps drives work in the same 2.5-inch bays.
During POST the controller BIOS reports the FBWC module status, and the HPE Smart Storage Administrator will show Cache Status: OK with 4 GB backed.
