The HP ProLiant DL380 Gen9 is a 2U rack server designed for data-centre workloads that need dense compute in a standard cabinet footprint. It ships with a single Intel Xeon E5-2670 v3 processor, 4GB of DDR4 ECC memory and two 1TB 7.2K SATA drives. The platform supports a second processor for up to 24 total cores and 3TB of memory across 24 DIMM slots.

B140i software RAID constraint

The installed B140i controller provides RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10 for SATA drives only. It does not support SAS or NVME devices, so any storage expansion must use SATA media. Eight 2.5-inch SFF bays are populated with the two included drives, leaving six bays free for additional SATA disks within the same controller domain.

Dual 500W redundant power

Two hot-swap 500W power supplies deliver N+1 redundancy without occupying extra rack units. The Matrox G200eH2 graphics chip handles basic console output, freeing PCIe slots for workload accelerators or additional network adapters. Buyers who need hardware RAID, SAS connectivity or NVME boot devices must add a compatible controller and, where required, the appropriate drive bay kit.
