AIT1 tape media for backups

This cartridge uses the AIT1 format to deliver 35 GB native or 70 GB compressed capacity. It is designed for departmental and workgroup backup jobs where capacity, performance and cost are critical. A built-in memory-in-cassette chip enables faster file access and higher reliability. The pack contains one cartridge.

Suited for AIT1 drives only

Organisations with existing AIT1 tape drives can use this media for routine archiving and disaster recovery. Buyers who need higher capacity per cartridge or a different tape format should look at other media types. The single-cartridge pack is not intended for high-volume automated libraries.

35 GB native, 70 GB compressed capacity

The native capacity is 35 GB and the compressed capacity is 70 GB. This figure decides whether the cartridge matches your backup window and retention requirements. Verify that your AIT1 drive supports compression to reach the higher figure.

The pack contains one AIT1 data cartridge; a compatible AIT1 tape drive and backup software must be supplied separately.

Which capacity version should I select for my backup needs?
