15.6-inch 144 Hz gaming laptop

The HP Victus combines a 15.6-inch FHD IPS panel at 144 Hz with an Intel Core i5-12450H processor and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 graphics. It ships with 16 GB DDR4-3200 RAM and a 512 GB PCIe 4x4 NVMe SSD. Windows 11 Home is pre-installed. The 250-nit anti-glare display covers 45% NTSC.

Upgraded memory and storage bundle

The unit arrives with a single 16 GB DDR4-3200 module and a 512 GB NVMe SSD already installed. A TiTac 32 GB card is included in the box. The USB-C port supports DisplayPort 1.4 and sleep-and-charge. Two USB-A 5 Gbps ports also offer sleep-and-charge. Wi-Fi 6 (2x2) and Bluetooth handle wireless connectivity.

Check your workflow before buying

Buyers who need more than 512 GB of internal storage should plan for an external drive or a later SSD swap. The GTX 1650 with 4 GB GDDR5 suits 1080p gaming at medium settings but will not satisfy buyers who want higher frame rates in demanding titles. The 45% NTSC screen may not meet the needs of colour-critical creative work.

Questions about this item

How much RAM can be added later if the 16 GB DDR4-3200 MHz module fills the only slot?

The laptop ships with a single 16 GB DDR4-3200 MHz stick, so the second slot is free for another module up to the board limit.

Which component hits its thermal ceiling first during long gaming sessions, the i5-12450H or the GTX 1650?

The GTX 1650 4 GB GDDR5 typically reaches its power limit before the 8-core i5-12450H hits 4.4 GHz turbo under sustained load.

How loud do the fans get and what is the surface temperature after hours of 144 Hz gameplay?

Fan noise rises to a noticeable but not intrusive level and the keyboard deck stays warm rather than hot during extended 144 Hz sessions.
