Mobile workstation with discrete RTX graphics

The HP ZBook 8 G2i is a 16 inch mobile workstation built for professionals who need certified application performance on the move. It pairs an Intel Core Ultra 7 356H processor with 16 GB of DDR5 memory and an NVIDIA RTX PRO 500 GPU with 6 GB of GDDR7 dedicated video memory. The system runs Windows 11 Pro and includes a 5 MP IR AI camera with Windows Hello support.

Suited for 3D modelling and design reviews.

This laptop suits engineers, architects and designers who work with 3D modelling, design reviews or architectural layouts away from a desk. The 100 % sRGB IPS display at 400 nits gives accurate colour for visual tasks. Buyers who need more than 6 GB of dedicated graphics memory or who require a larger screen diagonal should look at a different class of workstation.

Discrete NVIDIA RTX PRO 500 with 6 GB GDDR7

The single specification that decides fit is the discrete NVIDIA RTX PRO 500 Blackwell generation GPU with 6 GB of GDDR7 memory. It delivers hardware-accelerated performance for professional 3D and AI-enhanced workflows that integrated graphics cannot match. If your workflow depends on that discrete GPU and its 6 GB frame buffer, this model meets the requirement.

Questions about this item

What are the exact dimensions I need to clear for this 16" WUXGA laptop?

The chassis measures 14.13 x 9.84 x .75 in, so allow at least that footprint and height in any sleeve or bag compartment.

How do I add the NVIDIA RTX PRO 500 6 GB GDDR7 GPU if the spec lists integrated graphics?

The discrete GPU is factory-installed on the motherboard; there is no user-accessible slot, so the 6 GB GDDR7 RTX PRO 500 arrives already active alongside Intel Graphics.

When will the 16 GB DDR5-5600 memory need replacement, and what module matches?

The single 16 GB DDR5-5600 stick is soldered, so capacity cannot be upgraded; plan on the original module lasting the laptop’s service life.
