Refurbished mobile workstation for professionals

This HP ZBook Power G9 is a refurbished 15.6-inch laptop built around a 14-core Intel Core i7-12800H running at 2.4 GHz up to 4.8 GHz with 24 MB cache. It targets engineers, designers and analysts who need certified drivers and ISV support in a portable chassis. The unit ships with Windows 11 Pro and shows minor scratches and dents from prior use.

DDR5 memory and dedicated GPU free expansion slots

The system includes 32 GB of DDR5-4800 memory and a 256 GB SSD, leaving the second SO-DIMM slot and an additional M.2 bay available for future upgrades. An NVIDIA RTX A1000 GPU with 4 GB video memory handles 3D modelling and GPU-accelerated workloads without relying on shared system RAM. Wi-Fi 6E AX211 and Bluetooth 5.2 provide modern wireless connectivity.

Sustained performance under thermal load

The 45 W processor and discrete GPU are cooled by a dual-fan vapour-chamber solution designed for extended compile, render or simulation sessions. The 250-nit IPS panel covers 45% NTSC and remains stable during long work periods. Buyers who need a larger colour gamut, higher brightness or a touchscreen should consider other models.

Questions about this item

How does the i7-12800H 14-core processor handle thermal limits during sustained heavy workloads?

The 14-core i7-12800H runs at 2.4 GHz base and up to 4.8 GHz boost with 24 MB cache; under continuous load the chassis thermal design will throttle clocks to stay within its power envelope.

What fan noise and surface temperatures should I expect when the RTX A1000 4 GB GPU and CPU run all day?

The dedicated RTX A1000 and 14-core CPU share the cooling system; expect audible fan spin and warm keyboard deck during extended render or compute sessions.

Which dock or power adapter must I already own to drive this 15.6" FHD IPS 250-nit display and charge the laptop?

The unit ships with its original HP power adapter; any USB-C dock supporting DisplayPort alt-mode and 100 W power delivery will drive the 1920 x 1080 panel and charge the battery.
