A 10 Gb dual-port SFP+ network adapter with PCI Express x4 host interface for optical-fibre connectivity
The HPE 530FLR-SFP is a plug-in network card that adds two 10GBase-X SFP+ ports to a server or workstation. It connects through a PCI Express x4 slot and ships as a new, full-height adapter with a quick-install card and warranty statement. The card targets IT teams deploying 10 gigabit fibre links in rack or tower systems.
Moving from a single 10Gb port or from 1 Gb fibre eliminates a bandwidth bottleneck for storage replication, backup and virtualisation traffic. The second port also enables link aggregation or separate networks without adding another card. The upgrade is worth it when the host has a free x4 slot and the switch side already supports SFP+ optics or direct-attach cables.
The x4 host interface caps theoretical throughput at the lane speed of the generation installed in the server; actual line rate depends on the negotiated link. SFP+ modules are not included, so reach and fibre type depend on the transceivers chosen. The card supports optical fibre media only and carries WEEE, RoHS and REACH environmental certifications.

The adapter uses a PCI Express x4 host interface and fits a PCI Express x4 slot.
Power off the server, insert the card into a PCI Express x4 slot, secure the bracket, then attach SFP+ transceivers and fibre cables before powering on.
The card has two SFP+ cages that accept hot-pluggable SFP+ transceivers; the transceivers and fibre patch cables are the items you replace when links change.
