  • Enterprise features include VLAN tagging, RSS, jumbo frames and PXE boot
  • Supports VMware NetQueue, Microsoft VMQ and Intel VMDq for virtualisation efficiency

HPE 560FLB 10Gb Dual-Port Adapter

The HPE 560FLB is a 10 Gigabit Ethernet network card with two ports on a FlexibleLOM form factor. It is based on the Intel 82599 chipset and designed for HP BladeSystem c-Class Gen8 servers. This new adapter targets administrators who need high-throughput connectivity for virtualised workloads in supported blade enclosures.

FlexibleLOM Slot and PCI Express x8 Host Interface

The card installs into a dedicated FlexibleLOM slot inside compatible Gen8 blade servers and communicates over a PCI Express x8 host interface. It provides two 10Gb Ethernet ports for full-duplex operation. Servers without a FlexibleLOM slot or with a different generation cannot accept this adapter.

Verify Blade Compatibility and Driver Support

Confirm the blade server is a supported HP BladeSystem c-Class Gen8 model with an available FlexibleLOM bay. Check that the operating system or hypervisor includes drivers for the Intel 82599 controller and the required virtualization features such as VMware NetQueue, Microsoft VMQ and Intel VMDq.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 560FLB with its two 10 Gb ports or a single-port version for my Gen8 blade?

The 560FLB provides two 10 Gb ports on one FlexibleLOM, giving you redundant links or aggregated bandwidth without consuming a second mezzanine slot.

What does the 10 Gb rating mean once the card is installed in a c-Class Gen8 server?

Each port runs at full-duplex 10 Gb/s over the PCIe x8 host interface, delivering line-rate throughput for virtualised workloads and jumbo-frame traffic.

How does the PCIe x8 host interface affect real-world throughput?

The x8 lane width supplies enough bandwidth for both 10 Gb ports simultaneously, so neither port is capped by the bus under normal loads.
