HPE 600GB 12G 15K LFF SAS internal hard drive, silver metal casing

HPE

HPE 600GB 12G 15K LFF SAS internal hard drive

SKU CH-6EEH-Q6XTG

600 GB 15 K SAS drive for high-throughput server storage

  • 600 GB capacity stores large datasets
  • 15 000 RPM spindle speeds up data access
  • 12 Gbps SAS interface moves data quickly
  • Large form factor fits standard drive bays

Capacity and interface

This HPE internal hard drive delivers 600GB of storage on a 12G SAS interface with a 15K spindle speed. The large form factor fits standard drive bays in compatible servers and storage arrays. It is supplied new in retail or OEM packaging.

Suited for high-IOPS SAS environments

This drive suits workloads that demand low latency and sustained throughput on 12G SAS backplanes. Buyers who need a different capacity or a 2.5 inch form factor should look at other models. Systems without a 12G SAS controller cannot support the rated transfer speed. Environments requiring solid-state endurance or silent operation will not be served by this mechanical unit.

Questions about this item

Will the 12 Gb/s SAS link run at full speed in my server backplane?

The drive supports 12 Gb/s SAS; actual throughput depends on whether the controller and backplane also support 12 Gb/s.

Does the 15 K rpm spindle speed still matter with modern controllers?

15 K rpm reduces rotational latency for random I/O, so it benefits transaction workloads even on current SAS controllers.
