A 2SFF NVMe backplane kit enabling two small-form-factor NVMe drives in an HPE ProLiant DL360 Gen10 server
This kit adds two small-form-factor NVMe drive bays to an HPE ProLiant DL360 Gen10 server. It is built for administrators who need local high-speed storage in a 1U rack chassis. The backplane connects directly to the server board to support non-volatile memory express devices. Installation uses the existing drive cage space without extra cabling.
Suitable for IT teams expanding flash capacity on a supported DL360 Gen10 platform. Not for owners of other ProLiant models or earlier generations that lack the required backplane connector. Builders needing more than two NVMe slots should evaluate alternative configurations. Customers without a compatible server cannot use this kit.
The single specification that decides fit is the two-bay NVMe backplane interface designed for the DL360 Gen10. It determines whether the server chassis accepts the kit and whether the drives communicate at PCIe speeds. Verify the server model and generation before ordering.

The 871242B21 kit adds two small form factor NVMe slots to the front of a ProLiant DL360 Gen10, so select it when you need direct-attached NVMe storage in those bays.
It provides two front-accessible small form factor bays wired for NVMe drives, letting the operating system see each drive as a low-latency NVMe namespace without a RAID controller in between.
The backplane uses the NVMe protocol over PCIe lanes from the CPU, so throughput and queue depth are capped by the processor's PCIe generation and the number of lanes allocated to the two bays.
