Aruba CX 6300 48-port stackable switch

The Aruba CX 6300 is a stackable Layer 3 switch with 48 ports supporting 5GBase-T, 25GBase-X and 50GBase-X speeds. It targets network engineers building access, aggregation or top-of-rack fabrics that require modular uplink flexibility and cloud-native management via Aruba NetEdit and the CX Mobile App.

Sustained-load behaviour

A Gen7 ASIC provides non-blocking throughput across all 48 ports and four SFP slots under continuous traffic. Virtual Stacking Framework links up to 10 switches into a single logical device, preserving consistent forwarding performance as the fabric grows without oversubscription bottlenecks.

Thermals noise and power

The chassis draws 184 W during typical operation, reflecting the multi-gigabit PHYs and PoE budget for high-density access points. Fan speed scales with internal temperature sensors, maintaining acceptable acoustic levels in wiring-closet environments while protecting the ASIC and power supplies under full load.

Questions about this item

How much power does the 184 W switch draw when running continuously?

The switch consumes up to 184 W during continuous operation, so plan your power budget and cooling for that load.

What uplinks must I already have to use the 4 SFP slots?

You need SFP or SFP+ transceivers and compatible fibre or direct-attach cables for 25 GbE or 50 GbE uplinks.

Will my older 1 GbE devices work with the 5 GbE ports?

The 5GBase-T ports are multi-rate and will negotiate down to 1 GbE for legacy endpoints.
