Three-unit Wi-Fi 6 access point pack

The HPE Aruba Instant On AP25 arrives as a pack of three dual-radio access points built on the Wi-Fi 6 standard. Each unit delivers 4x4 spatial streams for higher capacity and wider coverage across the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. Aggregate peak data rates reach 5.3 Gbps, split between 4.8 Gbps on 5 GHz and 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz. A 2.5 Gbps Ethernet uplink and 160 MHz channel bandwidth support the wireless throughput.

Suits small businesses wanting cloud-managed Wi-Fi 6

The cloud portal and mobile app let administrators configure employee and guest networks with WPA2/WPA3 and Enhanced Open from anywhere. OFDMA, MU-MIMO and Target Wake Time improve efficiency for dense client environments and battery-powered devices. Full backward compatibility keeps legacy 11a/b/g/n/ac clients connected. Organisations that require on-premises controller hardware or advanced roaming analytics should evaluate other solutions.

2.5 Gbps Ethernet uplink per access point

The single 2.5 Gbps port is the wired bottleneck for each AP, so the upstream switch must provide matching ports or the wireless peak cannot be sustained. Power is not included; each unit needs a compatible PoE source or separate injector..verify the switch budget and cabling before deployment.

Questions about this item

How is the AP25 mounted and what step is often missed?

The AP25 mounts on a ceiling or wall using the included bracket; the step often missed is connecting the 2.5G Ethernet uplink to a PoE+ switch or injector because no power adapter is included.

What maintenance will the three AP25 units need over time?

Firmware updates are delivered through the Instant On mobile app or cloud portal; no user-serviceable parts exist, so maintenance is limited to applying those updates and occasional vent cleaning.

What limit appears first when the AP25 runs at full load for long periods?

The 2.5G Ethernet uplink caps sustained throughput at 2.5 Gbps even though the radios can reach an aggregate 5.3 Gbps, so the wired port becomes the bottleneck.
