A 2U barebone chassis with twelve 3.5-inch drive bays, a four-port Gigabit adapter, an MR416i-O RAID controller and included rack rails
The HPE DL380 Gen11 chassis provides twelve 3.5-inch large-form-factor bays in a two-rack-unit frame. It ships as a configure-to-order barebone with an MR416i-O RAID controller and a four-port Gigabit network adapter already installed. Organisations building high-capacity storage nodes or backup targets can populate the bays with the drives their workload requires.
This barebone arrives without processors, memory modules or power supplies. Confirm that the Intel Xeon Scalable CPUs you select match the socket and thermal limits of the platform. Ensure the DIMM type, rank count and quantity align with the memory architecture. Choose redundant power supplies rated for the total system draw once all drives and add-in cards are fitted.
The MR416i-O controller handles parity calculations in hardware, keeping CPU cycles free during long rebuilds or continuous write streams. Twelve spinning disks can saturate the controller cache during extended jobs, so monitor cache health and battery or capacitor status. The four Gigabit ports provide steady network throughput for replication or client access without the latency spikes seen on single-port configurations.

This is a CTO barebone chassis with 12 x 3.5" LFF bays, a 4-port Gigabit NIC and MR416i-O RAID controller; CPUs, RAM and storage are not included and must be sourced separately.
The 12LFF version provides twelve 3.5-inch bays — the highest LFF count in this chassis — so select this model when you need the most 3.5-inch drive slots.
The MR416i-O controller provides hardware RAID for the installed drives, allowing you to configure arrays for redundancy or performance before loading an operating system.
