Silver 2.5 inch SAS hard drive in a black carrier tray with green release handle

HPE

HPE EF0600JEHMA 600GB 10000RPM 12Gbps 2.5" SAS internal hard drive

SKU CH-3MJR-5VRBC

600 GB 2.5-inch SAS drive spins at 10,000 RPM with a 12 Gbps interface and includes a hot-swap carrier

  • 600GB capacity stores large datasets on a single 2.5" drive
  • 10000RPM spindle speed accelerates random I/O for transactional workloads
  • 12Gbps SAS interface doubles host bandwidth over 6Gbps links
  • Dual-port architecture provides redundant paths for continuous availability
  • Hot-swap design with Smart Carrier enables drive replacement without system downtime

600 GB 12 Gb/s SAS drive

This new HPE EF0600JEHMA is a 600 GB internal hard drive spinning at 10000 RPM with a 12 Gb/s SAS interface. It uses a 2.5 inch form factor and ships with a Smart Carrier caddy for hot-swap installation. The dual-port design suits enterprise servers and storage arrays that demand high-throughput block access.

Suited for SAS hot-swap bays

Administrators upgrading or expanding HPE ProLiant or compatible 2.5 inch SAS backplanes will find the correct carrier and dual-port connectivity already included. Builders whose chassis only accepts 3.5 inch trays or who require a different interface protocol should look elsewhere.

12 Gb/s SAS interface decides fit

The single specification that determines compatibility is the 12 Gb/s SAS interface combined with the supplied Smart Carrier tray. Verify that your backplane and controller support this exact signalling rate and carrier format before purchase.

Questions about this item

Does my server need a 12Gbps SAS backplane to use the EF0600JEHMA?

The drive connects through a 12Gbps SAS interface; a compatible SAS controller or backplane is required for operation.

Will this 10000RPM SAS drive work in a bay that currently holds 6Gbps SAS drives?

The EF0600JEHMA supports 12Gbps SAS and will negotiate down to 6Gbps on an older backplane, so it can share a chassis with slower drives.

How do I verify the SMART carrier on the EF0600JEHMA is functioning after installation?

The carrier LEDs show drive status and the controller reports SMART health data; both should indicate normal operation once the array initialises.
