SKU CH-1CSJ-58Q9Y

A 300 GB 2.5-inch SAS internal hard drive spinning at 15 000 RPM with a 12 Gb/s interface and an included Smart Carrier tray

  • 300 GB capacity stores critical server data

  • 12 Gb/s SAS interface maximises throughput bandwidth
  • 5-inch form factor fits dense drive bays
  • Smart Carrier tray simplifies hot-swap maintenance

Enterprise capacity for transactional workloads

The HPE EH0300JDXBA is a 300GB 15000RPM SAS hard drive built for 2.5-inch server bays. It targets environments that need consistent random I/O for databases, virtualisation hosts or high-transaction applications. The included Smart Carrier caddy streamlines installation in compatible HPE chassis.

Sustained throughput at 15000 RPM

A 15000 RPM spindle keeps latency low during extended read and write sequences, avoiding the performance drop typical of slower drives under continuous load. The 12Gb/s SAS link moves data to the controller without bottlenecking the mechanical media. This combination suits workloads that run for hours rather than seconds.

Hot-swap carrier and 12Gb/s SAS connector

The supplied Smart Carrier tray locks the drive securely and supports hot-swap removal without tools, reducing service time in rack-mounted arrays. A single 12Gb/s SAS port handles both data and power through the backplane, so cabling stays simple. The 1.0 pound weight keeps loading density high in 2.5-inch enclosures.

Questions about this item

How much noise and heat does the 15000 RPM SAS drive produce during continuous operation?

The 15000 RPM spindle speed and SAS 12Gb/s interface mean the drive will generate noticeable heat and audible noise when running all day; ensure your chassis has adequate airflow.

What controller or backplane must I already have to use the 12Gb/s SAS interface?

You need a SAS host bus adapter or RAID controller that supports 12Gb/s SAS, plus a 2.5-inch drive bay or backplane with SAS connectors.

Will the included Smart Carrier caddy fit my older 2.5-inch SAS server tray?

The drive ships with an HPE Smart Carrier caddy designed for HPE Gen8/Gen9 servers; it may not latch into third-party or earlier-generation trays.
