The Juniper EX4300-24P is a rack-mountable Layer 3 switch that fits in a single 1U slot. It provides twenty-four Gigabit Ethernet ports for copper connectivity. The switch targets businesses that need managed routing between VLANs without a full chassis footprint.

Uplink module expansion

One dedicated expansion slot accepts an optional uplink module to add higher-speed or fibre uplinks. The base unit ships with copper RJ-45 ports only, so the module choice determines the uplink media and speed. Without a module installed the switch cannot connect to aggregation or core layers.

Gigabit copper distance limit

Every primary port runs 10/100/1000Base-T over twisted-pair cabling, which restricts link length to one hundred metres per segment. The switch does not support Power over Ethernet on any port. Virtual Chassis stacking is not available on this model, so each unit operates as a standalone managed switch.
