HPE Juniper Networking QSFP28 100G SR BIDI Transceiver 70m 100m

SKU CH-T7J4-V3HFS

A QSFP28 transceiver delivering 100 Gbps over multimode fibre up to 70 m with OM3 or 100 m with OM4 using an LC duplex connector

  • 100 Gbps throughput with QSFP28 form factor
  • Reaches 70 metres over OM3 multimode fibre
  • Extends to 100 metres using OM4 multimode fibre
  • Bidirectional optics cut cabling in half

QSFP28 100G SR bidirectional transceiver

The HPE Juniper Networking QSFP28 module provides a 100 Gbps bidirectional link over duplex multimode fibre with LC connectors. It is built for data-centre and enterprise switches that require high-density short-range connectivity in a hot-pluggable form factor.

Reach limited to OM3 and OM4 multimode fibre

The transceiver operates up to 70 metres on OM3 fibre and up to 100 metres on OM4 fibre. Links that exceed these distances or run on single-mode cable will not function, so buyers needing longer runs or different cable types must select an alternative module.

Questions about this item

Which distance variant should I pick — the 70 m or the 100 m version?

The 70 m reach applies when using OM3 multimode fibre, while the 100 m reach requires OM4 multimode fibre; choose based on the fibre grade already installed in your links.

What does the 100G headline rate mean once the transceiver is installed in a switch?

It delivers a single 100 Gbit/s lane over duplex LC multimode fibre using bidirectional optics, so one QSFP28 port provides full 100 Gbps throughput without breakout cables.
