Purpose-built backup media

HPE LTO Ultrium-7 data cartridges deliver high-capacity tape storage for long-term archiving and regulatory compliance. Each cartridge is engineered for reliable write and read cycles in enterprise backup workflows. The pack contains 20 individually sealed units ready for immediate library deployment.

Verified labelling and handling

HPE applies precision-engineered barcode labels in a clean environment and tests every label with proprietary automation software to warrant 100 per cent readability. Unique barcode sequences per batch eliminate duplication risk during inventory scans. Non-custom labelling keeps the ordering process fast and simple for standard library operations.

Passive archival reliability

Cartridges contain no moving parts and draw no power while stored, producing zero noise and zero heat in the vault. Mechanical stress occurs only during drive load and unload cycles, keeping wear predictable. Proper environmental storage maintains data integrity for decades without active cooling.

Questions about this item

Does the LTO Ultrium-7 interface limit transfer speed in real use?

The cartridges are built for LTO Ultrium-7 drives and library slots, so throughput is capped by the drive generation rather than the media itself.

What physical slot or library bay does this cartridge fit?

Each cartridge matches the standard LTO Ultrium form factor used in half-height and full-height LTO-7 libraries and autoloaders.

What is the correct way to load these cartridges into an autoloader, and where do users go wrong?

Insert the cartridge with the write-protect switch set correctly and the barcode label facing the scanner; the common error is leaving the switch in the wrong position for the backup job.
