HPE MSA 84 TB SAS 12G 7.2K LFF 3.5in 6-pack HDD Bundle R0Q72A

HPE MSA 84 TB SAS HDD Bundle

This bundle provides six 3.5-inch hard drives delivering 84 TB of raw capacity for HPE MSA storage systems. The drives operate at 7200 rpm and connect via 12Gb/s SAS interfaces. They are designed for internal rack-mounted deployment in compatible arrays. The package suits organisations expanding midline storage pools.

12Gb/s SAS interface and 7200 rpm spindle

The single specification that determines fit is the 12Gb/s SAS interface combined with a 7200 rpm spindle speed. Controllers and backplanes must support 12G SAS to realise full throughput. Systems limited to 6G SAS will operate at reduced bandwidth. Verify the array accepts LFF 3.5-inch midline drives before purchase.

Thermals noise and power in normal use

Midline 7200 rpm drives generate moderate heat and audible seek noise typical of high-capacity spinning media. Power draw scales with the six-drive count during sequential and random workloads. Adequate chassis airflow is required to maintain drive temperatures within rated limits. Acoustic output increases under heavy I/O loads.
