10Gb dual-port Ethernet adapter

The HPE NC552m is a 10Gb dual-port network interface card designed for blade servers. It delivers 10GBase-X connectivity through two ports. The card is supplied new and carries RoHS environmental certification.

Blade server connectivity upgrade

This adapter suits administrators adding 10Gb Ethernet to compatible HPE blade enclosures. It is not for rack-mount servers lacking the FlexFabric mezzanine slot or for workstations that require PCIe form-factor cards.

Dual-port 10GBase-X interface

The decisive specification is the dual-port 10GBase-X interface, which determines whether the card matches the blade slot and cabling infrastructure. Verify the enclosure supports this mezzanine type before purchase.

Questions about this item

Which version of the NC552m should I choose for a blade server?

The NC552m is a dual-port 10GBase-X Flex Adapter Board designed for blade servers, so the single listed version fits that environment.

What does the 10 Gbps headline speed mean once the card is installed?

Each of the two ports operates at 10 Gbps using 10GBase-X signalling, giving two independent 10 Gbps links.

What interface does the NC552m use and what does it cap in practice?

The adapter connects through the blade server's Flex Fabric mezzanine slot and each port is limited to 10 Gbps by the 10GBase-X standard.
