SKU CH-09FA-3QZQT

A managed Layer 3 switch with 48 PoE+ RJ-45 ports and four SFP+ uplinks, delivering 1050 W of power

  • 48 PoE+ ports power phones and cameras without extra adapters
  • Layer 3 routing manages traffic between VLANs and subnets
  • Four SFP+ slots add 10 GbE or 40 GbE fibre uplinks
  • 1050 W internal supply delivers PoE+ budget for dense deployments
  • MACsec on every copper port encrypts data at line rate

48-port PoE+ L3 switch

The HPE 3810M provides 48 autosensing RJ-45 ports that deliver both data and IEEE 802.3at PoE+ power. It is a managed Layer 3 switch designed for rack mounting in enterprise wiring closets. The 1050 W power budget supports a full complement of powered devices such as access points and IP cameras.

Uplink flexibility and PoE headroom

Four SFP+ slots accept 10 GbE transceivers, while an optional module can replace them with two 40 GbE ports or four Smart Rate ports. The 1050 W supply covers all 48 ports at full PoE+ simultaneously; adding the optional 40 GbE or Smart Rate module reduces the available PoE budget.

DC power input requirement

This model operates from a DC power source rather than mains AC. Sites without existing DC distribution will need a separate rectifier or power shelf before the switch can be deployed.

Questions about this item

Will the 48 PoE+ ports power my existing 802.3at access points and IP phones without extra injectors?

Yes, all 48 RJ-45 ports deliver IEEE 802.3at PoE+ power, so compatible 802.3at devices draw power directly from the switch.

How do I confirm the 1050 W PoE budget is actually available after I rack the unit?

The management interface shows real-time PoE consumption per port and total budget utilisation, letting you verify the 1050 W supply is operating as intended.

Does the box include the SFP+ transceivers for the four uplink ports or must I order them separately?

The switch ships with the 48 RJ-45 ports and 1050 W power supply installed; SFP+ transceivers for the four uplink slots are sold separately.
