Compact 1U rack server for virtualized workloads

The HPE ProLiant DL360 Gen11 is a 1U rack server designed for hybrid environments that run database applications and virtualization. It targets IT teams needing dense compute in a single rack unit with integrated remote management.

Dual Xeon Gold 6430 with 64 total cores

Two Intel Xeon Gold 6430 processors provide 32 cores each at 2.10 GHz base frequency with 60 MB cache and up to 3.40 GHz turbo. The 512 GB DDR5-4800 ECC buffered memory fills the maximum capacity across eight 64 GB modules.

Requires installation of drives and memory

The 30.72 TB of enterprise SATA SSDs and the 512 GB DDR5 memory ship separately and must be installed before deployment. Redundant hot-swappable power supplies and the embedded 4-port 1GbE OCP3 adapter support continuous operation, while the MR408i-o storage controller and iLO 6 handle storage and remote management.

Questions about this item

What does the 32-core per processor figure mean for virtualization density?

Each Xeon Gold 6430 provides 32 cores at 2.1 GHz base with 3.4 GHz turbo, so the dual-socket configuration delivers 64 cores total for hosting many virtual machines simultaneously.

How does the PCIe Gen5 interface affect the MR408i-o storage controller throughput?

The MR408i-o Gen11 controller uses eight PCIe Gen5 lanes with 4 GB cache, enabling high-speed data paths to the four SATA SSDs without bottlenecking the 6 Gb/s links.

What physical space and mounting hardware does this 1U server require?

The chassis fits a standard 1U rack height and includes a rail kit for installation; drives and memory modules ship separately and must be installed before use.
