2U rack server with 8-core Xeon, 32 GB DDR4, eight SFF bays and 800 W power supply
This 2U rack server ships with a single Intel Xeon Gold 5315Y processor running at 3.2 GHz across eight cores. It includes 32 GB of HPE DDR4 SmartMemory and a Broadcom MegaRAID MR416i-p controller with 4 GB cache. The chassis provides eight small form factor drive bays and one 800 W hot-plug power supply.
The system supports one processor and 32 GB of installed memory, so environments that require dual-socket performance or larger memory footprints should evaluate other configurations. No drives are installed, so storage must be sourced separately. Buyers needing pre-populated drives or redundant power supplies from the outset should look elsewhere.
The storage controller delivers x16 lanes with 4 GB cache and includes a 96 W lithium-ion battery with a 145 mm cable. It manages NVMe and SAS devices across the eight drive bays. This specification determines whether the server matches your storage topology and performance requirements.

The controller occupies one of the eight expansion slots and connects to the eight SFF drive bays via the included x16 lane cable; the 96 W lithium-ion cache battery with its 145 mm cable must be seated and plugged in, otherwise the 4 GB cache cannot persist through power loss.
The HPE 96 W Smart Storage lithium-ion battery on the MR416i-p controller degrades over time and should be replaced when iLO reports reduced cache backup capacity.
The four standard fans and single 800 W power supply set the cooling envelope; prolonged full-core turbo will hit the chassis thermal ceiling before the CPU reaches its own throttle point.
