HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen11 2U rack server

The HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen11 is a 2U rack-mount server system built for hybrid environments. It ships with dual Xeon Gold 6430 processors, each offering 32 cores at a 2.1 GHz base frequency and a 3.40 GHz turbo peak. The platform includes 256GB of DDR5-4800MHz ECC buffered memory and 7.68TB of enterprise SAS storage across four 1.92TB SSDs.

Suited for virtualised workloads

This server suits organisations running virtualised workloads, database applications or multiple simultaneous services that benefit from 64 total cores and high memory bandwidth. Buyers who need the drives and DIMMs pre-installed should look elsewhere, as the memory and storage upgrades are supplied separately and require installation before deployment.

Dual Xeon Gold 6430 32-core 2.1GHz processors

The defining specification is the dual Xeon Gold 6430 configuration, providing 32 cores per socket at 2.1 GHz with 60MB cache per processor. This core count and clock profile determines whether the system matches the performance envelope required for the target virtualised and database workloads.

Questions about this item

What rack-mount hardware is included so the server fits in my existing cabinet?

A rail kit is supplied with the 2U chassis for standard rack installation.

Will the embedded 4-port 1GbE OCP3 adapter connect to my older 1GbE switches?

Yes, the four 1GbE ports are backward-compatible with existing 1GbE network infrastructure.

How do I verify the MR408i-o storage controller sees all four 1.92TB SAS SSDs after I install them?

Use the iLO 6 remote console or the controller BIOS utility during boot to confirm all four drives appear in the array configuration.
