  • iLO 6 remote management enables secure provisioning and monitoring from anywhere

Dual Xeon 6430 server for virtualization

The HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen11 is a 2U rack server built for hybrid environments that need scalable compute and memory. Dual Xeon Gold 6430 processors provide 64 total cores at 2.1 GHz with turbo up to 3.40 GHz. 512 GB of DDR5-4800 ECC buffered memory supports dense virtualization and database workloads.

Redundant power and hot-swap cooling

Dual redundant power supplies allow replacement without taking the system offline. Hot-swappable components keep thermals stable during maintenance. The 2U chassis balances airflow and density for sustained operation in rack environments.

15.36 TB SSD array with rail kit

Eight 1.92 TB enterprise SATA SSDs deliver 15.36 TB of raw storage behind an MR408i-o controller with 4 GB cache. Drives and memory ship separately and require installation. Integrated iLO 6 enables remote management, and the included rail kit simplifies rack mounting.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 16 DDR5 memory modules and 8 SATA SSDs that ship separately, and what step is most often missed?

Populate all 16 DDR5 slots evenly across both Xeon 6430 processors, then seat each 1.92 TB SSD in the hot-swap bays; the step most often missed is enabling the MR408i-o controller in BIOS before creating the RAID volume.

Which components will need replacement first under continuous operation?

The dual redundant power supplies and the 8 enterprise SATA SSDs are the only field-replaceable parts rated for hot-swap; fans and the iLO 6 module are not designed for user replacement.

What thermal or power limit appears first when both Xeon 6430 CPUs sustain 3.40 GHz turbo across all 32 cores?

The 2U chassis airflow and redundant PSU capacity set the practical ceiling; sustained all-core turbo will throttle once the thermal envelope of the 2U form factor is reached.
