Hybrid-ready 2U server
The HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen11 is a 2U rack server built for hybrid environments. It ships with dual Xeon Gold 6430 processors, each offering 32 cores at 2.1 GHz with turbo up to 3.4 GHz. The system includes 512 GB of DDR5-4800 ECC buffered memory across 16 modules. Buyers needing GPU-dense configurations or single-socket density should look elsewhere.
Separate kits require installation
The bundle provides 61.44 TB of storage via eight 7.68 TB enterprise SAS 12 Gb/s SSDs and the MR408i-o Gen11 storage controller with 4 GB cache. All drives and memory upgrades arrive as separate kits and are not installed in the chassis. This means administrators must allocate time for physical installation and initial RAID configuration before the array is production-ready.
Redundant power and rail kit included
Hot-swappable redundant power supplies allow a faulty unit to be replaced without taking the server offline. The embedded OCP3 adapter provides four 1 GbE ports for network connectivity. Integrated Lights-Out 6 with Intelligent Provisioning handles remote management and deployment tasks. A rail kit is supplied for standard rack mounting.

Questions about this item
How often will the 61.44TB SAS SSD array need maintenance or replacement?
Enterprise 2.5-inch SAS 12Gb/s SSDs are rated for heavy write workloads; under typical mixed use they last several years before wear-leveling reserve drops to the replacement threshold.
Which limit appears first when the dual Xeon 6430 32-core CPUs run sustained loads?
The 3.40 GHz turbo ceiling is reached before thermal throttling, so the frequency limit shows up first during long compute bursts.
What are the noise, heat and power characteristics once the server runs all day with redundant supplies?
Dual hot-swappable power supplies share load, keeping each unit cooler and quieter than a single supply at full capacity while maintaining uptime.
