Tower server with Xeon E-2124 at 3.3 GHz, 64 GB DDR4, 8 TB SATA RAID and iLO 5 remote management
The HPE ProLiant ML30 Gen10 arrives as a tower chassis with an Intel Xeon E-2124 quad-core processor running at 3.3GHz with turbo up to 4.3GHz. It includes 64GB of DDR4 memory supplied as separate modules and 8TB of storage across four 3.5-inch SATA drives configured for RAID. The embedded 332i dual-port 1Gb Ethernet adapter and iLO 5 remote management are built in. This server suits small businesses and remote offices that want to assemble the final specification themselves.
Moving from a single-drive desktop or an older tower without hardware RAID gives you redundant storage via the Smart Array S100i controller and remote console access through iLO 5. The jump is worth it when you need ECC-capable DDR4 memory, dual network ports and a DVD-ROM drive in a chassis designed for 24/7 operation. Buyers who want hot-swap bays or redundant power supplies should look elsewhere.
The 64GB DDR4 kit (16GB modules) and the four 2TB SATA drives ship uninstalled, so you must populate the DIMM slots and drive bays before first boot. A single cabled power supply means no redundant power path, and the S100i RAID controller supports only entry-level RAID levels. The tower form factor fits standard racks with optional rails, but rack hardware is not included.

The tower chassis accepts four 3.5-inch SATA drives; each 2TB 7.2K drive fits a standard bay and the Smart Array S100i Gen10 manages the RAID set.
Insert the four 16GB PC4-21300 2666MHz unbuffered DIMMs into the motherboard slots; the step often missed is seating each module until the retention clips click on both sides.
Replace a 2TB drive if SMART alerts or RAID degradation appear via iLO 5; swap the DVD-ROM only if it fails to read media.
