SKU CH-008C-APYNZ

A 14 TB 3.5" internal hard drive with a 12Gb/s SAS interface spinning at 7200 rpm for HPE MSA storage systems

  • 14 TB capacity for large-scale data storage
  • 7200 rpm spindle speed for consistent throughput
  • 12 Gb/s SAS interface for high-speed connectivity
  • 5-inch LFF form factor fits standard drive bays
  • Designed for HPE MSA storage systems

Drive purpose and audience

The HPE R0Q62A is a 14 TB 3.5-inch internal hard drive spinning at 7200 rpm. It connects through a SAS 12Gb/s interface and is designed for HPE MSA storage systems that need high-capacity midline storage.

Bundled items and their effect

The drive ships in retail or OEM packaging that may vary. No additional cables, brackets or software are mentioned, so the installer must supply any required SAS cables, drive carriers or management tools separately.

Installation notes and common issues

The 3.5-inch form factor fits standard LFF drive bays in compatible HPE MSA enclosures. Installation is straightforward when the correct carrier is used, but the drive will not function in systems that lack a 12Gb/s SAS backplane or HPE MSA firmware support.

Questions about this item

Does the 14 TB midline drive require any scheduled maintenance or replacement parts during its service life?

The 14 TB midline drive has no user-serviceable parts and no scheduled maintenance; it is designed to run continuously in an HPE MSA storage system until replacement is needed.

What is the first limit reached when the 7200 rpm SAS 12G drive runs at full throughput for extended periods?

The 12 Gb/s SAS interface sets the sustained transfer ceiling, so the drive will hit the interface bandwidth limit before the 7200 rpm mechanics saturate.

How much noise and heat does the 3.5 inch 14 TB drive produce when operating all day in an MSA array?

The 3.5 inch midline drive meets HPE MSA acoustic and thermal specifications, so its noise and heat stay within the enclosure's rated cooling and sound limits during continuous operation.
