Installation Checks

Verify that the supply circuit matches 125 V single-phase with ground and that the cord diameter falls between 0.36 in and 0.93 in. Confirm the wire gauge is within 16 AWG to 8 AWG and that the enclosure rating Type 4, 4X, 12 and IP66 meet the site requirements.

Sustained Load Behaviour

The connector is rated for continuous operation from -40 °C to +75 °C with a maximum temperature rise of 30 °C. Its Valox housing carries a UL94 V-0 flammability classification and the brass contacts maintain dielectric strength up to 2000 V under prolonged use.

Questions about this item

Does the HBL2313SW come with a cord or wire, or do I buy those separately?

The connector accepts cord diameters from .36 in to .93 in and wire sizes from 16 AWG to 8 AWG; cord and wire are not included and must be purchased separately.

Which NEMA rating should I choose for a wet industrial location — Type 4, 4X, 12 or IP66?

The HBL2313SW carries all four ratings simultaneously: Type 4, 4X, 12 and IP66, so a single version covers wet, dusty and wash-down environments.

What does the 20 A / 125 V rating mean when the connector is installed in a real circuit?

It supports single-phase loads up to 20 amps at 125 V AC, with a 1 hp motor rating and dielectric strength tested to 2000 V, and operates from -40 °C to +75 °C with a 30 °C temperature rise limit.
