Industrial Locking Connector

The Hubbell HBL2613BK is a 30 A 125 V L5-30R locking connector built for indoor dry environments. It suits electricians and maintenance crews who need a secure single-phase power connection for equipment up to 30 amps.

Nylon Housing and Cord Grip

The natural white nylon body carries brass contacts and accepts cable diameters from .360" to .930" with #16 to #8 AWG stranded copper wire. A funnel-shaped wire entry and integrated cord grip reduce strain on screw terminals while a dust shield keeps the wiring chamber clean.

Temperature Range and Safety Rating

Operating range spans -40 °C minimum without impact to +75 °C maximum continuous use. The connector meets HB or better flammability rating per UL and screw terminals are identified per UL 498 requirements.

Questions about this item

What does the L5-30R NEMA configuration cap the connector at?

The L5-30R configuration limits the connector to single-phase operation at 30 A and 125V AC, matching its UL 498 rating.

What cable diameter and wire gauge range must the installer plan for?

The cord grip accepts cables from .360" to .930" diameter and terminates #16 AWG to #8 AWG stranded copper conductors.

How is the HBL2613BK wired, and which step is most often missed?

Strip each conductor, insert into the funnel-shaped entries, and tighten the standard screw terminals; the step most often missed is securing the cord grip screws to activate the strain relief.
