Hospital-grade duplex outlet
The Hubbell HBL8200 is a 15 A, 125 VAC duplex receptacle built for hospital-grade environments. Its deep-body design and impact-resistant thermoplastic housing withstand high-abuse areas. UL Listed to UL498 File E2186 and CSA Certified to C22.2 No.42 File 285, it meets Federal Specification W-C-596 and NEMA WD-6 standards.
Thermals and safety ratings
The UL94 V-0 rated housing provides enhanced resistance to ignition. The device withstands a minimum of 2,000V dielectric voltage. It operates continuously from -40°C to +75°C without impact. Nickel-plated brass contacts and a four-point grounding system maintain reliable connections under load.
Back and side wiring capacity
Screw terminals accept #14–#10 AWG copper wire for both back and side wiring methods. The NEMA 5-15R configuration provides a standard duplex outlet type. This receptacle is not for installers who need push-in terminals or compatibility with aluminum conductors.

Questions about this item
How do I wire the back and side screw terminals, and what mistake do installers make with the #14#10 AWG copper wire?
Strip the copper wire to the gauge marked on the device, loop it clockwise under each screw, and torque firmly; the common error is leaving insulation under the terminal or mixing stranded and solid conductors on the same screw.
What part will need replacement first in a high-traffic hallway?
The nickel-plated brass contacts and the four-point grounding system wear from repeated plug cycles; the deep-face UL94 V-0 thermoplastic body resists impact but the contact pressure drops over time.
At what temperature does the receptacle hit its continuous-use limit?
The operating range tops out at +75°C continuous; above that the thermoplastic housing and contact spring force can degrade, so sustained loads in hot enclosures will reach this limit first.
