2-Gang Weatherproof Cover Aluminum

The Hubbell Incorporated 2FB is a gray aluminum cover rated NEMA 3R for outdoor or damp locations. It fits a two-gang portable outlet box and can be mounted horizontally or vertically. The lidless design leaves the interior open for blank plates or custom fittings. Mounting screws are included in the package.

Indoor Only or Single-Gang Installations

Buyers who need a cover with a hinged lid for weather protection while cords are plugged in cannot use this lidless model. Installations requiring a single-gang footprint or a non-metallic cover material should look at other options. The unit is restricted from sale in certain states, so verify local code acceptance before purchase.

NEMA 3R Rating Decides Suitability

The NEMA 3R rating confirms protection against falling rain and sleet but not against directed water jets or submersion. This single specification determines whether the cover meets the environmental demands of the installation site. If the application requires a higher ingress protection level, this cover is not the correct part.

Questions about this item

How does the 13/64 in depth affect what fits inside the 2-gang box?

The shallow 13/64 in depth limits internal space, so only low-profile devices or blank covers will fit without crowding the wiring.

Does the aluminum cover get hot or noisy when mounted in direct sun all day?

The gray aluminum dissipates heat passively and has no moving parts, so it stays silent and does not add noticeable temperature rise.

What mounting hardware must I already have to install this cover horizontally or vertically?

The package includes screws, but you need a compatible 2-gang weatherproof box and a 4-14/25 in mounting pattern on the surface.
