Product Identity

The Hubbell BB201W is a cast-aluminium back box with a 15-degree angled entry designed for IEC 309 pin-and-sleeve receptacles rated at 20 or 30 amps. It provides a NEMA 4X and IP54 enclosure for surface-mounted installations in demanding environments.

Sustained Load Behaviour

The metallic construction and UL Raintight rating allow the enclosure to maintain its protective seal during continuous exposure to moisture and external icing. Grounding compatibility with metallic conduit ensures a stable electrical path under prolonged operational conditions.

Installation Checklist

Verify that the receptacle matches the 16-to-32-amp device size range and uses a 3/4" NPT hub for the single feed-through entry. Confirm the mounting surface can accommodate the supplied screws and that the 15-degree angle suits the intended cable routing direction.

Questions about this item

Does the cast-aluminium BB201W dissipate heat when a 30 A load runs continuously?

The metallic body acts as a heat sink for the IEC 309 device inside; no active cooling is required.

Which IEC 309 pin-and-sleeve receptacle must I already own to fit this 15° back box?

Any Twist-Lock series receptacle rated 16–32 A that matches the display-size attribute will mount directly.

Can I thread the single 3/4" NPT hub into my existing metallic conduit system?

Yes — the dead-end hub accepts standard 3/4" NPT conduit and the box is grounded to metallic raceway.
