Weatherproof Cover for Outdoor Receptacles

The Bell 5103-0 is a single-gang weatherproof cover designed for vertical mounting on FS or FD weatherproof boxes. It protects outdoor receptacles in residential, commercial and light-industrial installations where a self-closing lid is required by code.

NEMA 3R Rating and Self-Closing Operation

The cover carries a NEMA 3R rating, meaning it provides protection against falling rain, sleet and external ice formation but is not rated for submersion or high-pressure water jets. The self-closing lid mechanism operates by gravity and spring return, so it cannot be held open without manual intervention or an accessory not included here.

Die-Cast Aluminum Construction with Neoprene Gasket

The cover body is die-cast aluminum finished in gray, supplied with a neoprene gasket and mounting screws for a weathertight seal against the box. The rigid metal housing resists impact and UV degradation better than plastic alternatives, while the included hardware simplifies installation on compatible FS or FD boxes.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the single-gang version or a multi-gang cover for my outdoor receptacle?

This cover is built for one gang only, so choose it when you have a single FS or FD mounting box; multi-gang boxes need a different cover.

What does the NEMA 3R rating mean once the cover is installed on my box?

The NEMA 3R rating confirms the assembly will shed rain and sleet while allowing the receptacle to operate vertically outdoors.

Does the die-cast aluminum lid with its neoprene gasket meet UL and CSA standards for outdoor use?

Yes, the cover carries both UL and CSA listings, and the self-closing aluminum lid with neoprene gasket satisfies those outdoor enclosure requirements.
