Hubbell L5-20R Flanged Locking Receptacle

The Hubbell HBL2310AR is a 20A 125V AC flanged locking receptacle built for dry indoor locations. It uses a NEMA L5-20R configuration with a 2-pole 3-wire grounded design. The twist-lock mechanism accepts both shrouded and standard NEMA locking plugs. Alignment arrows with lock and unlock symbols assist with engagement verification.

Upgrades from non-locking or lower-rated outlets

This device replaces standard receptacles where vibration or movement could disconnect a plug. The locking feature secures the connection for equipment rated up to 20 amps. The jump is worth it when a secure connection prevents downtime on critical 125V circuits. It also replaces older locking devices lacking visible alignment indicators.

Sustained load performance in continuous operation

The Valox housing and nylon components are rated for continuous operation from -40°F to 167°F. Brass contacts and springs maintain conductivity under a steady 20A draw. Materials are identified as corrosion resistant and impact resistant for long-term reliability. The device accepts 14 to 8 AWG copper wire via screw terminals for secure termination.
