Hubbell HBL3431C Locking Plug 30 A

The Hubbell HBL3431C is a 30 A locking plug rated for 120/208 V three-phase power. It uses a four-pole, four-wire non-NEMA configuration for industrial and commercial equipment. The black and white nylon housing suits panel builders and maintenance crews who need a secure, keyed connection for high-current loads.

Ribbed nylon housing and cord grip

The ribbed nylon body gives a firm grip during insertion and resists impact plus chemical exposure. A superior cord-grip design clamps the cable jacket to stop strain from reaching the screw terminals. Funnel-shaped wire entries guide each conductor into the correct terminal, while an integral dust shield keeps the wiring chamber clean during installation.

30 A capacity for three-phase loads

At 30 A the plug handles typical motor starters, lighting banks and small distribution panels on a 120/208 V system. The four-pole layout carries three hot legs plus ground, so balanced three-phase loads run without neutral current on the ground path. Loads that exceed 30 A or require a different pinout will need a separate device.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the HBL3431C locking plug is wired correctly after installation?

Verify that the 4 pole 4 wire terminations are fully seated in the funnel shaped wire entries and that the integral dust shield sits flush over the wiring chamber before applying 120/208V power.

What comes with the HBL3431C locking plug and what must I source separately?

The plug ships as a complete unit with ribbed nylon housing and cord grip; you must supply your own 4 conductor cable sized for 30 A service.

Which version of the HBL3431C should I choose for a 30 A 120/208V circuit?

The HBL3431C is a single Non-NEMA 4 pole 4 wire model rated 30 A 120/208V; select it when your circuit matches those exact specifications.
