Duplex Cover Plate Yellow Nylon

The Hubbell HBLP8FSY is a non-metallic duplex cover plate made from yellow nylon. It fits a single-gang outlet box and uses a bracket-type screw for mounting. The plate measures 4.56 inches wide by 2.84 inches long and meets UL and CSA standards.

Indoor Electrical Installations

This cover plate suits residential or commercial projects that need a durable, non-conductive finish on a standard duplex receptacle. It is not for installations requiring a metallic plate, a different colour, or a configuration other than a single-gang duplex opening.

Yellow Nylon Material

The nylon construction provides impact resistance and electrical insulation in a high-visibility yellow colour. This material choice determines suitability for environments where non-metallic, corrosion-resistant covers are specified.

Questions about this item

What are the exact length and width of the HBLP8FSY cover plate so I can confirm it matches my outlet box?

The plate measures 2.84 inches in length and 4.56 inches in width, matching standard one-gang duplex outlet dimensions.

Which screws are used to mount this nylon plate and what is the common installation mistake?

It uses standard bracket-type mounting screws; the common error is over-tightening, which can crack the nylon material.

Does the yellow nylon material require any specific cleaning or periodic replacement?

No maintenance is required; the UL/CSA-listed nylon resists fading and impact, so the plate lasts for the life of the installation.
