Application Scope

This Hubbell liquid-tight cord connector accepts a single cable with a diameter between .25 and .31 inches. It threads into a 1/2 inch MNPT box opening and provides a straight, insulated nylon body for general-purpose wiring jobs.

Build and Installation

The grey nylon housing and matching nylon spiral strain relief extend 2.16 inches beyond the connector body, absorbing pull and flex at the cable entry point. A 1 1/8 inch length from box face to connector end keeps the profile compact inside enclosures or panels.

Compliance Decider

The part carries CSA file LR27378 and UL file E54218 (M) with no hazardous-location rating, so it suits ordinary indoor or sheltered outdoor circuits but cannot be used where explosion-proof or Division-classified fittings are required.

Questions about this item

What cord diameter range does the 1/2 in MNPT connector accept?

The connector accepts cords from .25 in to .31 in diameter for a liquid-tight seal.

How much panel depth does the 2.16 in spiral strain relief add behind the enclosure?

The external spiral strain relief extends 2.16 in beyond the box connection, so allow that clearance inside the cabinet.

Which way do you tighten the gland nut to compress the spiral strain relief onto the cord?

Thread the gland nut clockwise until the spiral grips the cord firmly; overtightening can damage the nylon gland.
