Grounding Bushing for 1 1/4 in Conduit

The RACO 1215 grounding bushing connects rigid metal conduit or IMC to an enclosure while providing a grounding path. Its zinc-plated iron body resists corrosion in commercial and industrial electrical installations. The fitting accepts 1 1/4 in trade-size conduit with NPS threads and meets UL 514B and CSA standards.

Upgrade from Non-Grounded Bushings

This bushing replaces standard uninsulated bushings where code requires a grounding connection for metal conduit systems. The jump is worth it when the installation must bond the conduit to the grounding system without a separate lug. The integrated clamp secures the grounding conductor directly to the bushing body.

For Electricians Running RMC or IMC

Suited for contractors pulling rigid metal conduit or intermediate metal conduit in 1 1/4 in trade size who need a listed grounding fitting. Not for buyers who need EMT compression couplings, PVC solvent-weld hubs, or larger trade sizes beyond the 1 1/4 in specification.

Questions about this item

What size threaded opening does the 1 1/4 in trade size require on the conduit?

The bushing uses NPS female threads sized 1 1/4 in. - 11 1/2 to match RMC or IMC conduit.

Which step is often missed when installing the grounding bushing onto threaded RMC?

Tighten the set-screw clamp onto the conduit after threading the bushing fully home to secure the ground path.

How often should the zinc-plated iron bushing be inspected for corrosion?

Inspect during routine conduit checks; the zinc plating resists rust but damage to the finish can expose the iron base.
