Square 2-gang electrical box
The RACO 257H is a galvanised steel electrical box with a square profile and an H-type bracket. It provides 42 cu in of capacity for wiring in residential or light commercial installations. The unit is UL Listed and ships new from stock.
Upgrade from smaller or single-gang boxes
When a project needs two device openings in one enclosure, this 2-gang box replaces single-gang units or shallower 1-gang alternatives. The jump is worth it when conduit entries exceed the knockout count of a smaller box or when the 42 cu in volume satisfies fill calculations that a lesser capacity cannot meet.
Capacity and headroom for conduit-heavy runs
The box offers five 1/2 in. and two 3/4 in. back knockouts plus twelve 1/2 in. and twelve 3/4 in. side knockouts for flexible raceway routing. It comfortably handles multiple cable bundles and device yokes within its 42 cu in volume, but runs out when the project demands three or more gangs or a deeper enclosure than the 2 1/8 in nominal depth.
