Straight liquid-tight conduit fitting for 1-1/4 in flexible metallic or non-metallic Type B conduit, gray malleable iron and steel construction, 2.200 length
This new Hubbell Raco 3405 straight liquid-tight conduit fitting is built for trade-size 1-1/4 inch applications. It connects flexible liquid-tight metallic conduit and flexible liquid-tight non-metallic Type B conduit to a 1-1/4 inch MNPT box entry. The fitting is constructed from malleable iron and steel with a gray finish. Its straight orientation suits direct inline routing.
Electricians and maintenance technicians terminating liquid-tight conduit at junction boxes, control panels or motor housings will find this fitting matches the required trade size and thread type. It is not insulated, so projects that require an insulated throat must use a different fitting. The design also omits strain-relief mesh, so installations needing that feature should select an alternative part.
The single specification that determines fit is the 1-1/4 inch trade size combined with a straight 1-1/4 inch MNPT box connection. Verify that the conduit outer diameter and the enclosure thread match this trade size before purchase. The 2.200 inch overall length defines the space needed inside the enclosure.

Thread the fitting onto the conduit until the ferrule seats fully, then tighten the compression nut to the manufacturer's torque value; the step often missed is confirming the ferrule has gripped the conduit jacket before final tightening.
Inspect the gray malleable iron and steel body for corrosion or thread damage periodically; replace the fitting if the compression nut no longer seals against the conduit or if the 1-1/4 inch MNPT threads show wear.
The liquid-tight seal at the compression nut typically degrades before the malleable iron body, especially if the fitting experiences vibration or thermal cycling that loosens the connection.
